My Most Popular Author Website Articles of 2025

Graphic: "The world needs your brilliant ideas"

It’s that time of year where I take a look at the resources I’ve shared that have been most popular with my audience.

This year, I’ve done far less on Instagram, and I’m shortening my newsletter format too.

So to keep things simple, I’m listing here my top ten blog articles - that is, the ones that have received the most page views during 2025.

Here they are in order:

(#1 is the most popular)

  1. How to embed a Substack form in your website

  2. How to embed your Substack feed in your Squarespace author website

  3. Best Squarespace author websites

  4. 8 Things your consulting website must have

  5. Substack for authors: pros and cons

  6. Squarespace portfolio examples for writers and authors

  7. Should you make a Canva website?

  8. 33 Reader magnet ideas for authors

  9. How to remove blog dates in Squarespace

  10. How to upload a PDF to your Squarespace website

My thoughts on this list

  • The enthusiasm for Substack shows no sign of slowing. I’ve only written around 8 articles about Substack, so the fact that 3 of them are in this list is interesting.

    • I now have a done-in-a-day service, my Substack-Squarespace Power Up, where I’ll take care of the integrations for you, make sure your branding is consistent, and give you personalized advice so you don’t wreck your SEO by cross-posting the same content on both your website and Substack.

  • It seems that inspiration and examples of good author websites are also appealing (#3 and #6). I’ll share more like this in 2026!

  • There are some not-obvious, but easy and effective tricks in Squarespace (#9 and #10). They’re the kind of thing that a professional designer like me knows, because I spend so much time working inside Squarespace.

    • I’m a fan of hiding blog dates if your material is fairly evergreen. It takes the pressure off you, to feel you have to post with a defined cadence. (#9)

    • Being able to add PDFs to your website (#10) gives useful options for delivering value to your readers (like a lead magnet - see #8).

Are you ready to stop researching, and get your website done for you?

I love sharing website resources and inspiration, but if you want to get your author website done, it’s time to take action. This is especially applicable if you’ll be publishing a book in 2026! Depending on the scope of your project, I’m typically booked one to three months ahead. My favorite clients plan ahead, in order to make full use of your precious book launch phase.

A website created by me will delight your readers and set you up for business results. Let’s design, build, and launch an online home that’s highly personalized for your needs. Learn more about working with me, and then schedule a complimentary chat if you’d like to discuss your needs.
