I guess you could call a 5000-mile transatlantic move a bit of a plot twist

Despite a childhood passion for reading, I didn’t grow up with a hankering to become a published author. Most of my early career was spent in jobs that are best described as “analytical”, with a healthy dose of entrepreneurship and marketing sprinkled in.

However, after moving from London to the San Francisco Bay Area, my creative side started to agitate. And if I’m honest, although I settled well in my new California home, some lingering homesickness for “Blighty” persisted.

“Write what you know”

As you’ve probably heard, writing can be an excellent form of therapy. I penned and self-published my debut romantic comedy, set in a fictional English village — with hindsight, my way of recreating the parts of British life that I missed most. I never intended to write more books, but readers embraced the first in the Saffron Sweeting series and that first novel now has over 1000 ratings on Amazon. Over the next few years, one book turned into two, three … and eventually six.

During this time, I naturally created my own author platform, including a website and email newsletter. It was already over a decade since I’d built my first website for another purpose, and I was nimble with technology. But when I started attending writing conferences, I realized that many other authors were completely overwhelmed by the tools they needed to connect with readers and promote their work.

I realized many excellent books were languishing, because their talented writers didn’t have the skills to market themselves online

Before long, I was giving informal advice between conference sessions, solving problems, and helping with technical steps that to me, came naturally.

Gradually, I accepted what my wise husband pointed out: I was far more inclined to jump out of bed and work on my own (or another author’s) website, than I was to write my next book. So while I haven’t officially retired my own pen, there isn’t much creative writing happening these days in those beautiful notebooks that I’m still hoarding.

Instead, I've found the perfect intersection of creativity, tech, and marketing, serving wonderful clients who share my appreciation for books that keep us reading past our bedtime.

Almost everyone who works with me says that my own background as an author is a deciding factor

Not only have I been in your shoes, but I spend a lot of time hanging out in author circles and learning about book marketing. I understand the immense satisfaction of holding your book in your hands, and the rewards of seeing it change thousands of lives.

In short, it’s a joy for me to help other brilliant authors establish a beautiful, compelling, and businesslike website that allows you to grow your audience and sell more books.

“Pauline was a dream to work with and made me feel like I had made the right decision every step of the way.”

— Lēigh Tudor, author

I love seeing you launch your high impact author website almost as much as I love my morning tea!

I was born in Cambridge, England and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2004. I hold both a British and an American passport, and I try to appreciate the best of both countries. When I’m not creating websites for authors and solopreneurs with books, you’ll find me running, reading, or searching for the next place to enjoy tea and a slice of cake.

I stand against inequality, injustice, hate, and racism. I work with clients who share a commitment to positive change, open dialogue, and respect for diverse perspectives. My goal is to support authors who bring forward ideas and stories that make the world a more just, compassionate, and sustainable place.
