I’m delighted today to take you behind the scenes with my client Jordan Gruber, co-author with James Fadiman of Microdosing for Health, Healing and Enhanced Performance.
This new book offers a comprehensive and sensible exploration of the ways that tiny doses of plant medicines and similar substances can heal our bodies, nurture our souls, and expand our performance.
With a full schedule of launch publicity, I was grateful for the chance to catch up with Jordan about this publishing journey. We also talked about how he and Jim are using their new website to connect with readers worldwide, and encourage them to submit reports of their own microdosing experiences.

What inspired you to write Microdosing for Health, Healing, and Enhanced Performance?
Jim Fadiman and I had already partnered on one book, Your Symphony of Selves. As for microdosing, Jim essentially invented modern microdosing, i.e., he had "written the book about it." So then it became time to write the book about microdosing again, bringing together everything that about it that Jim had discovered and we could find.
Which types of book marketing are working best for you so far? What are you enjoying?
Enjoying the podcasts and bookstores we have been doing, and the NPR audio radio. I think when the next two podcasts featuring us come out (Mayim Bialik and Danica Patrick), we'll see the book doing the best it's done so far. Also glad that I orchestrated a personal reach-out campaign to all of my and Jim's friends, family, and colleagues.

Can you offer any advice to other authors about building an online presence?
Keep at it. It's an ongoing process that begins months before release date and goes on many months after.
What has surprised you in this journey to publish the book and reach readers?
How hard it has been to get people to post reviews. And how hard it is to break out of one's own little bubble of social media influence.
What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects, events, or goals?
We may write a follow-on book, and we may orchestrate more of a road trip bookstop tour for the summer.
